The Forres Class
Dancing on the well sprung floor of the Lesser Town Hall, the Forres class enjoys a varied selection of dances.
The class teachers have many years of experience and have devised dances accepted by the RSCDS. The class welcomes new and experienced dancers. Our teaching aims to lead dancers through basic steps and formations, to confident dancing.
Where Do We Meet?
The class meets in the Lesser Town Hall, High Street, Forres, IV36 1PB
Classes will run from Monday 16th September 2019, through to the 30th March 2020, with a short break over Christmas period.
The main class runs from 8pm to 10pm on the Monday evening.
Beginners & Refresher
Classes for new dancers and those looking to re-start dancing will run from 16th September 2019 and continue into 2020 according to demand. The class will start at 7.15pm run 7.55pm. Dancers will be taught the steps and formations needed for dances and therefore able to join the first hour of the main class at 8pm. (It is advised that complete beginners should join the September class at the start).
New members may attend the Class for three consecutive weeks before having to join the Branch and the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
Dancers join the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and the Forres Branch.
The single adult annual fees are £20.00 and £4.00 respectively.
Joint Membership for adults living at the same address is £40.00 and £8.00.
Single dancers aged 18-24 pay £16.00 and £4.00
A six month membership for new members is available from January.
The weekly class fee is £4.00 per dancer.
The lower age limit for children attending the Class is 10 and all children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
